West Red Lake Gold Mines Ltd. is restarting and expanding the historic Madsen Gold Mine in Northwestern Ontario and seeks a Miner 2 - Jackleg/Stopper Bolter.

The role operates underground, installing ground support and maintaining safe production to achieve development targets. Candidates should have 3+ years in an underground hard rock setting, with jackleg/stopper bolting experience, and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of underground hard rock mining experience, preferably jackleg/stopper bolting.
• Demonstrated experience installing ground support in development, deck, and sill mining environments.
• Knowledge of underground mining methods, ground control practices, and mine safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate jackleg and stopper drills to install ground support in deck and sill mining areas.
• Install rock bolts, screen, straps, and other ground support systems as required.
• Conduct workplace inspections and identify ground control hazards.
• Scale loose rock and ensure work areas are safe prior to commencing work.
• Read and interpret mine plans, ground support standards, and supervisor instructions.
• Perform equipment inspections and complete pre-operational safety checks.
• Participate in blasting cycles and coordinate work with other underground crews.
• Maintain housekeeping standards in all assigned work areas.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and equipment defects promptly.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of underground mining operations.
