West Red Lake Gold Mines is hiring for a Miner 2 to support underground development at the Madsen Mine in Ontario. The role focuses on safe operation of jumbo drills and bolting equipment, with emphasis on meeting development and production targets in a 14/14 rotation schedule.

The successful candidate will perform drilling, ground support installation, inspections, and hazard identification while adhering to mine plans, engineering specs, and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate conventional bolting equipment to install ground support in underground development headings.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the safe operation of conventional mining equipment and tools.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, survey layouts and breakthrough notifications.
• Measure, record and document workplace data as required.
• Communicate work progress, equipment conditions, and hazards to the Supervisor.
• Complete equipment inspections, reports, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
• Adhere to all safe work procedures, policies, and site safety standards.
• Demonstrate skill in conventional underground mine development.
• Achieve production and performance targets while maintaining safety.
• Participate in inspections, hazard identification, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of underground mining operations.

Reporting to the Underground Mine Supervisor, the successful candidate will work a 14 & 14 rotation and be responsible for operating equipment and managing materials within their assigned work areas. About the Role:

The Miner 2 position offers a competitive base hourly rate of $75.68, with the opportunity to earn up to an additional $50.00 per hour through a production bonus program, for a total earning potential of $125.68 per hour.

Miner 2 – (Bolter, Jumbo / MacLean) is responsible for supporting underground mine development through the safe and efficient operation of jumbo drills and MacLean bolting equipment. Working as part of the underground mining team, the incumbent performs drilling, ground support installation, workplace inspections, and hazard identification while contributing to the development mining cycle. The role requires a strong commitment to safe production, adherence to mine plans and engineering specifications, and a focus on achieving development and production targets at the Madsen Mine.
