Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid First Aid Certificate.
Sufficient language skills, literacy and numeracy.
Labour background considered an asset.
2+ years of directly related drilling experience.
Exposure to different drilling environments and techniques preferred.
Must meet Fitness for Duty program standards.
Common Core (Records submission required).

Responsibilities

Safety is PARAMOUNT in our business. Follow all policies, procedures and laws.
Perform duties safely and protect equipment and coworkers.
Maintain equipment and promote maximum life of tools and site gear.
May train new Driller Assistants in a safe environment.
Be physically fit for work.
Work under the supervision of a driller or field supervisor.
Follow EHS policies and conduct risk management.
Provide basic first aid when needed.
Assist drilling operations: handle rods/tools, samples, fluids, maintenance, housekeeping, inventory, calculations, refueling.
Operate non-drilling equipment if required.
Maintain a safe workplace and incident records.
Keep accurate daily drill reports and logs.
Support relations and teamwork; mentor field staff.
