Job summary

Lake Shore Gold in Timmins, Ontario is hiring a Cage Tender on a full-time basis to operate the Cage, transport workers and materials underground, and maintain related systems. The role requires relocation to the Timmins area and offers a competitive hourly salary with a 5-5-4 rotation (12-hour shifts).

Ideal candidates will have experience with rock breakers and loading pocket systems, strong safety awareness, and the ability to plan effectively to reduce downtime.

Qualifications

• Experience operating rock breakers and loading pocket systems.
• High level of safety-consciousness.
• Well-developed planning skills to reduce timeframes of transporting workers.
• Be committed to safety.
• Basic UG Hard Rock Common Core is required.
• Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Cage safely to convey workers, material and explosives underground.
• Assist in maintaining rope and conveyance systems and perform mine shaft repairs as needed.
• Inspect and assist in timber and rock repairs.
• Support in planning to minimize lost time in transport of workers and materials.
