Job summary

Lake Shore Gold is hiring an Engineering Graduate / Engineer in Training (EIT) for the Timmins West Mine in Timmins, ON. The role is full-time with a Monday-Friday schedule (8 hrs/day or 4 on, 3 off, 10hrs/day).

The base salary ranges from CAD 85,000 to 95,000 annually and relocation to Timmins is required. The successful candidate will rotate through various engineering functions on surface and underground, including surveying, ventilation, ground control, longhole planning, development design,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Seeking P.Eng. license with PEO when eligible.
  • Proficiency in Deswik.CAD and Deswik.Sched for mine planning.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.
  • Willing to relocate to Timmins, Ontario.

Responsibilities

  • Rotate through various engineering functions (surface and underground).
  • Experience with underground production crews to understand mine operations.
  • Involvement in longhole planning, development design, scheduling and day-to-day tracking.
  • Participate in short-term planning and coordination with mine teams.

Job description

We are looking to hire Engineering Graduate / Engineer in Training (EIT) to join our Timmins West Mine in Timmins, ON., on a full-time basis. The schedule for this position is Monday-Friday, 8 hrs/day or 4 on, 3 off, 10hrs/day.

Compensation: This position offers a base salary range of $85,000 – $95,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

Vacancy Status: This is an existing vacancy. The successful candidate may begin as soon as possible.

Please note that this role requires relocation to the Timmins area and is not a camp-based position.

As an Engineer in Training/Engineering Graduate, you will follow a rotation through various engineering functions (on surface and underground) that may include: surveying, ventilation, ground control, longhole planning, development design, scheduling and day-to-day tracking, and short-term planning.

The role may include time embedded with various underground production crews in order to understand mine production roles firsthand.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mining Engineering from an accredited University
  • Seeking P.Eng. license with PEO when eligible
  • Comprehensive knowledge of engineering principles, theories, and techniques as they apply to ore body evaluation and underground mine operations
  • Proficiency in mine planning software (Deswik.CAD and Deswik.Sched)
  • The applicant must be eligible to work in Canada

About Us

Lake Shore Gold is located in Timmins, Ontario, a vibrant community of 45,000 residents that is a central hub for Northeastern Ontario. The Bell Creek Complex, located approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Timmins, Ontario, consists of an underground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with ore mined by narrow vein longhole stoping methods. Ore is then transported to surface via a modern one thousand eighty metre deep shaft capable of forty-eight hundred tonnes per day.
