Job summary

WRL Gold in Ontario is seeking an experienced Underground Blaster to join the initial team developing the Red Lake Madsen Mine. You will work on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off schedule, safely handling explosives to support production and reliable rock support.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3 years underground blasting experience, a common core certification, and a valid driver’s license. You will maintain blast records, equipment, and adhere to strict safety procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years underground blaster experience.
• Certified in the common core program.
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong teamwork skills.
• Knowledge of safe work practices and explosive manufacturer specifications.
• Experience maintaining blast equipment and safety procedures.
• Experience maintaining records of blast patterns and seismographic data.
• Proven safe work approach.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Pre-employment drug, alcohol, and criminal record checks.

Responsibilities

• Follow safe working practices and site safety guidelines.
• Handle explosives and load blast holes following provided layouts and site standards.
• Conduct site inspection for safety.
• Handle, store and transport explosives and accessories.
• Other duties as assigned.
