Job summary

Alexandra Marine and General Hospital (AMGH) in Goderich, Ontario, is seeking Ultrasound Technologists for casual, unionized positions. AMGH operates 24/7 and backfills for leaves to ensure continuous patient care. Start date is 2026-09-09 with a closing date of 2026-09-17.

Ideal candidates will be ARDMS/CSDMS registered with abdomen, OB/Gyn and breast ultrasound credentials; NT certification is expected, MRT/CMRTO assets are a plus, and PACS/HIS/RIS experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Join the ultrasound team providing a full range of studies in a 24/7 hospital.
• Backfill for temporary leaves and support continuous patient care.
• Maintain high-quality imaging and accurate data entry in PACS/HIS/RIS.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians and hospital staff.

Overview:

The Alexandra Marine and General Hospital (AMGH) is a fully accredited healthcare organization located in the beautiful community of Goderich on the shores of Lake Huron. AMGH is the largest provider of acute care hospital services in Huron County. AMGH offers a range of services including a 24 hour emergency, intensive care, obstetrics, general surgery, inpatient adult psychiatry and multi-site community mental health. The organization hosts a comprehensive range of specialty and regional healthcare services such as a renal dialysis satellite and telestroke site.
AMGH is currently seeking Ultrasound Technologists to join our team

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• A.R.D.M.S., C.S.D.M.S. Registered
• Credentials in Abdomen, OB/Gynecology, Breast Ultrasound
• NTcertification
• Graduate of a recognized Ultrasound Program
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Radiation Technology Program (MRT) an asset
• CMRTO registration an asset
• Current CPR Certification preferred

Experience:

• 2 years experience in Ultrasound
• Vascular studies experience preferred
• Experience in general imaging an asset
• Working with PACS/HIS/RIS

• Ability to handle stressful situations and changing priorities
• Ability to work independently and without supervision
• Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, on call and statutory holidays
• Able to maintain an effective working relationship with patients, physicians, hospital staff and the public
• Computer literate and knowledgeable in Microsoft Office applications (Hospital Softwareexperience and asset)
• Demonstrated initiative and good judgement in problem solving and identifying opportunities for action
• Excellent interpersonal/communication, verbal, written and organizational skills
• Professional demeanour and excellent attendance are required
• Knowledge of Quality Assurance and preventative maintenance processes
• Responsible to ensure optimal: patient flow, equipment operation and procedures
• Consistently meets attendance expectations, demonstrating reliability and commitment to scheduled shifts
