Job description

Join to apply for the U.S Tax, Senior Manager role at PwC Canada.

A career in our International Tax Desk practice, within International Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help multinational companies address their cross-border tax needs both locally and globally. You will manage global tax rates, identify cost reduction areas, and respond to regulatory inquiries. Gain a global perspective on tax issues related to evolving business structures and geographic expansion. Our team advises clients on tax laws, reporting, legislation, and planning strategies based on geography and jurisdiction. You’ll assist with local tax laws, reporting requirements, statutory filings, corporate strategy, transfer pricing, indirect tax, and other international taxation needs.

As a U.S. Tax Senior Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include:

  1. Developing new skills outside of your comfort zone.
  2. Resolving issues that hinder team effectiveness.
  3. Coaching others, recognizing their strengths, and encouraging ownership of personal development.
  4. Analyzing complex ideas or proposals and building meaningful recommendations.
  5. Utilizing multiple sources of information, including stakeholder views, to develop solutions.
  6. Simplifying complex messages and highlighting key points.
  7. Upholding the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.
  8. Managing a portfolio of clients and reporting to senior US Corporate Tax team members across Canada.
  9. Planning and reviewing US federal, state, and local tax compliance projects.
  10. Assisting clients with US tax needs, including reorganizations, loss limitations, earnings stripping, etc.
  11. Supporting cross-border mergers and acquisitions, including due diligence, planning, and post-merger integration.
  12. Participating in business development activities to identify and research new/existing client opportunities.
  13. Contributing to the development of technical skills within the team.
  14. Staying updated on local and national business and economic issues affecting clients.
  15. Building internal relationships and promoting PwC’s brand.
Experience and Skills Needed
  1. Experience in US Federal and state corporate income tax.
  2. US CPA or Canadian CPA or relevant professional designation.
  3. Completion of a Masters of US Taxation is an asset.
  4. Experience with US domestic and international tax issues, including research.
  5. Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  6. Experience with tax research applications like Checkpoint, BNA, CCH, and US tax software such as OneSource or GoSystem is an asset.

The salary range for this position is $115,500 - $192,400, plus potential annual bonuses. Compensation depends on skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
