Job description

Educational Designer, Student and Staff Coach, Life Long Learner

BrainBoost Education is a values‑driven learning centre in Vancouver that supports students who learn in different ways – including students with diagnosed learning disabilities, neurodivergent learners, and students whose educational pathways have been non‑traditional. For many of our daytime students, BrainBoost is their main place of learning during the school day (not "extra help").

About BrainBoost

We are hiring a full‑time tutor who can teach at least two main academic subject areas. You’ll be confident with B.C. curriculum expectations, strong in one‑on‑one teaching, and skilled at adapting instruction for learners who need a different approach. You’ll be joining a close‑knit, collaborative team of educators who share strategies and support one another.

Key responsibilities
  • Design and deliver engaging, customized one‑on‑one tutoring sessions.
  • Adapt instruction for students with learning differences (LD profiles and neurodivergence), using practical scaffolding and strengths‑based strategies.
  • Create a calm, respectful, encouraging learning environment for students who may be anxious, discouraged, or school‑avoidant.
  • Track progress and communicate with the team so learning plans stay coherent and responsive.
What we’re looking for
  • Strong command of at least two of the following subject areas (Grades 6‑10): Math, Science.
  • Experience supporting students who learn differently (LD, neurodivergence, or significant learning gaps).
  • Warm, steady, structured teaching style; strong relationship‑building skills with adolescents.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
Why work at BrainBoost
  • A close‑knit, supportive team of educators and strong internal collaboration.
  • A culture that values humour, curiosity, and thoughtful practice.
  • Paid prep and collaboration time built into your weekly schedule (not "after hours").
  • Ongoing professional development and shared learning.
  • Extended health and dental benefits (100 % employer‑paid after probation).
  • Clear wage grid with scheduled increases.
How to apply
  • Which subject areas you teach most confidently (Grades 6–10).
  • Your experience supporting students who learn differently.
  • How your approach would enrich our learning community.

Pay: $28/hour to start (with scheduled wage increases). Hours: 40 hours/week (30 hours teaching + 10 hours paid prep/collaboration). Schedule: Weekdays, between 9:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (no weekends).

Email your application to jessy@brainboosteducation.com.

We appreciate all applications; only those selected for an interview will be contacted.

EEO Statement: BrainBoost is committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and equitable workplace that reflects the communities we serve.
