Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies’ Melfort branch is seeking a Turf Service Technician for the Agriculture Division (John Deere). You will diagnose, repair, and service heavy equipment, documenting work and parts used. Strong customer service and safe work habits are essential.

Expected to lift up to 50 pounds and use John Deere Service Advisor for inspections and maintenance. Opportunities for growth exist within a growing company that values initiative and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment.
• Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment trade or equivalent.
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence.
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with customers and the service team.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate working condition, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment.
• Use related instruments, tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems safely and efficiently.
• Accurately document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time spent.
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure safety and standard compliance.
• Use John Deere Service Advisor to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
• Use parts catalogues to locate and order parts from parts personnel.
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

Our Melfort branch is looking for an exceptional individual to join our service department as a Turf Service Technician for our Agriculture Division (John Deere).

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
• Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
• Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required

What We Look For

• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
• Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
• Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
