As a Trust Officer at Scotia Wealth Management, you will be a trusted relationship manager supporting the company's strategy and revenue goals by delivering an exceptional client experience aligned with clients' needs and in compliance with policies. You will assist in identifying new business opportunities and support a Senior Trust Officer managing a diverse client portfolio. Your role involves managing day-to-day account administration and collaborating with internal teams to deliver comprehensive wealth strategies.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Relationship Management & Client Service
  2. Providing personalized, proactive service to high-net-worth clients, ensuring accurate account administration and demonstrating technical expertise and integrity.
  3. Building effective internal and external partnerships to deliver seamless financial solutions.
  4. Assisting with revenue collection, forecasting, and fee management to support branch profitability.

New Business Development

  1. Identifying and escalating new business opportunities and establishing relationships with retail branches to generate fee opportunities.
  2. Developing acquisition strategies and maintaining a pipeline of prospects for growth.
  3. Ensuring account management complies with policies and standards, escalating issues as needed.
  4. Maintaining knowledge of relevant legal, administrative, and economic issues, particularly in estates, trusts, wills, and taxation.
  5. Promoting a customer-focused culture and leveraging broader bank relationships.
  6. Considering risk appetite and culture in daily activities.
  7. Fostering effective operations and ensuring compliance with operational, AML, and conduct risk standards.
  8. Contributing to an inclusive, high-performance work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional client service and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with change management and technology adoption.
  • Ability to build deep relationships and achieve financial targets.
  • Professional or industry accreditation, with a university degree.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience, particularly in high-net-worth client management.
  • Membership or commitment to CSI and/or STEP preferred.
