A prominent organization is seeking a Trust Fund Accountant to manage financial transactions related to trust funds for multi-employer clients in Vaughan. We are seeking a Trust Fund Accountant, Vaughan to join our BPA team in Vaughan.
The Trust Fund Accountant is responsible for managing financial transactions of trust funds for multi employer clients. This role works collaboratively within the Client Accounting team to ensure timely and accurate record keeping while complying with all legal and regulatory requirements. The Trust Fund Accountant supports the Senior Trust Fund Accountant in the delivery of exceptional client service.
Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts.
Prepare journal entries and maintain up-to-date GL transactions.
Reconcile bank accounts.
Reconcile all balance sheet and income statement accounts; investigate outstanding items and develop recommendations to resolve.
Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
Prepare government remittances.
Monitor cash flow and prepare bank transfers.
Prepare cash flow, investment and other reports as required by clients.
Prepare working papers and assist during annual audits.
Evaluate and handle client related inquiries in a timely manner.
Handle day-to-day accounting duties for the clients.
Other duties as may be assigned by management.
5 or more years of working in an office environment with a focus on Accounting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to write reports, business correspondence
Excellent software skills, including MS office applications with intermediate to advanced level in MS Excel;
Maintaining a high standard of care and professionalism
Team player with collaborative mindset.
Strong knowledge of trust laws, fiduciary responsibilities, tax regulations.
Strong customer service skills, experience in a client / customer facing setting
Successful completion of CPA / CA designation is strongly preferred.
