Terra Law Corporation is a boutique commercial real estate law firm located in downtown Vancouver. We are currently looking for a full-time, permanent Trust Accounting Clerk to join our team.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in accounting or equivalent work experience with basic accounting procedures.
• 1+ years accounting experience in a law firm or professional services firm preferred.
• Understanding trust accounting processes and provincial law society rules; ensuring compliance.

Responsibilities

• Processing a large volume of trust cheques and deposits.
• Maintenance of investment accounts at all the major banks.
• Real estate closings and payouts.
• Preparation and posting wire and EFT payments and transfers.
• Monthly trust bank reconciliations.
• Tracking and reporting quarterly TAF remittance.
• Keeping accurate, organized records both electronically and paper.
• Ensuring firm policies and control procedures are met at all times.
• Assisting the team with various special projects and department initiatives.
• Other various accounting functions as needed

Standard Responsibilities

• Experience using Soluno an asset;
• Proficiency with Excel and Word;
• Strong technical aptitude;
• Detail oriented, methodical, well organized, with quick and efficient data entry skills;
• Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives under minimal supervision;
• Desire to learn, initiate changes and to assume additional responsibilities as time progresses; and
• Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills.
