Job summary

Bayview Trucks & Equipment Ltd. in Dartmouth is seeking a Parts Manager to oversee the daily operation of the Parts department and drive sales targets. You will manage inventory, support staff, handle quotes, and assist customers with warranty claims.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, you will ensure efficient service, accurate pricing, and professional showroom presentation while maintaining a safe work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in medium/heavy duty truck or automotive industry.
• Strong product/technical knowledge.
• Team player with commitment to the customer.
• Self-starter and motivated to sell.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain appropriate inventory levels to meet customer needs and optimize inventory turns.
• Assist and oversee Parts staff in the branch, as required. Coach staff on best practices and policies
• Oversee shipping and receiving.
• Evaluate and recommend parts required based on customer information.
• Answer and make sales calls as needed.
• Oversee and perform inventory cycle counts to maintain accuracy.
• Ensure the showroom is clean and the displays are effective and professional in appearance.
• Look up and locate parts in inventory or order parts from suppliers as per policies.
• Generate quotes and complete orders as per customer requests.
• Negotiate key sales issues and handle objections as required.
• Assist customers post-sale with warranty claims
• Explain warranty coverage to customers (as applicable).
• Assist with inter-branch transfers.
• Maintain a professional appearance and a safe, clean work environment.

Qualifications that a candidate MUST possess in order to gain consideration for this position:

• Previous experience in the Medium / Heavy Duty truck, automotive industry.
• High degree of product and technical knowledge.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle competing priorities and meet deadlines.

Experience working with PACCAR systems or KARMAK would be a great asset.

All new hires are required to present a clean criminal reference check. All employees operating company vehicles are required to present a clean Driver’s abstract. Bayview will reimburse the cost of these documents when presented with the receipt of payment.
