Job summary

The Bayview Group in Bathurst, NB is seeking a skilled Technician to diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers. You will perform preventive maintenance, identify parts, and complete reports for multiple manufacturers while supporting after-hours service as needed.

Required qualifications include college certification in Truck & Transport or Heavy Equipment, with a minimum Block 3 completion, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Completion of a College certification for Truck & Transport OR Heavy Equipment Service Technician.
• Minimum Block 3 completion for Red Seal not required but beneficial.
• Clean driver's abstract and ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate proficiency in repair/diagnosis of medium/heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Identify parts needed for repair and perform preventive maintenance.
• Trail test vehicles when necessary to diagnose issues and verify repairs.
• Document technical reports clearly and timely for manufacturers.
• Work after-hours service calls as needed and maintain professional conduct.

The Bayview Group is a full service, parts and sales dealer for Kenworth Trucks and KUBOTA farm and construction Equipment. We are currently hiring for our Bathurst New Brunswick location.

• We understand and support work life balance. Flexible Shifts:
• 5 days 8 hours per day
• 4 days 10 hours per day
• 3 days 13.50 hours per day
• Signing Bonus available for Red Seal Certified Heavy Equipment/Truck & Trailer Technicians. Also, completion of Block 4 working on Red Seal Certification. To be eligible for the bonus program resumes must be sent directly to Bayview's job ads.
  
  

Key Responsibilities For a Technician

• Demonstrate proficiency in the repair and diagnosis of medium and heavy-duty trucks and trailers, including but not limited to engines, power trains, electrical systems, steering systems, electronics, brake systems and suspension systems
• Identify and determine parts required for repair of disassembled units.
• Perform all levels of preventive maintenance services
• Identify warrantable repairs and document on repair order.
• Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or verify repair resolution.
• Complete technical reports from different manufacturers, in a timely accurate manner.
• Available to work covering the After-hours Service call for emergencies.
• Ability to work in a team environment and present themselves in a professional manner with a positive cooperative attitude.
• Maintain an organized workspace and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  
  

Requirements

• Completion of a College certification for Truck & Transport OR Heavy Equipment Service Technician- MINIMUM BLOCK 3 COMPLETION
• Ability to lift and move a maximum 50 lbs., (or in accordance with provincial workplace health & safety standards)
• Willing and able to continue training.
• Clean Driver’s abstract and Criminal Reference check
• Basic computer skills with the ability to work in Windows based software.
• Minimum 4 years experience in a Service environment.
