Job summary

Mr Apple is seeking skilled Class 5 truck drivers for the 2027 apple season based in Hastings, Hawke's Bay. Start January or February to transport apples between orchards, packhouses, bin stores and coolstores on local routes.

You’ll drive day or night shifts with no overnight trips, maintain logbooks, and coordinate with dispatch to keep operations running smoothly. A Class 5 licence, commitment to safety, and right to work in New Zealand are required.

Qualifications

• Class 5 licence required; 5L and class 4 considered.
• Strong focus on health and safety in daily driving tasks.
• Experience keeping logs/logbooks for multiple sites.
• Willingness to learn and upskill your driving skills.
• Right to work in New Zealand and ability to pass pre-employment checks.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport bins, pallets, and products between orchards, packhouses, bin stores and coolstores.
• Keep accurate and up-to-date logbooks during shifts.
• Carry out basic truck maintenance and report issues to dispatch.
• Communicate clearly with dispatch and team to coordinate deliveries.

What you’ll be doing:

We're on the lookout for skilled class 5 (option for a class 4) Truck Drivers to join our Hastings-based team for the 2027 apple season. Starting in January or February, you'll be transporting freshly picked and packed apples between our orchards, packhouses, bin stores, and coolstores, all within Hawke's Bay.

Your days, or nights, may include:

• Safely transporting bins, pallets, and other products between sites
• Keeping accurate and up-to-date logbooks
• Carrying out basic truck maintenance and reporting any issues
• Communicating clearly with dispatch and your team

What you’ll bring:

• A Class 5 licence (5L and class 4 also considered)
• A strong focus on health and safety
• Experience with record-keeping and logbooks
• A willingness to learn and upskill
• The right to work in New Zealand and ability to pass pre-employment checks
