Job summary

Kibbi in Surrey, BC is looking for a truck driver to join a two-person team. You will drive lighter, special‑purpose trucks, load and unload goods, and transport materials while following safety rules and dispatch instructions.

You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, monitor vehicle condition, and communicate cargo information to central dispatch. No experience required; training provided. This temporary, full-time role offers 40–50 hours per week with benefits.

Qualifications

  • Secondary school graduation certificate is required.
  • No experience required; training provided.
  • Experience in driving or logistics is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy.
  • Drive lighter, special purpose trucks.
  • Load and unload goods.
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
  • Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, etc.
  • Perform brake adjustments.
  • Perform emergency roadside repairs.
  • Pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections and communicate with central dispatch.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.
  • Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods.
