Job summary

Encompass Logistics Ltd in Delta, BC, is seeking a reliable truck driver for on-site work. No previous experience is required as comprehensive training will be provided.

You will operate and drive trucks, load and unload goods, and monitor vehicle conditions to ensure safe, efficient transport of cargo. The role emphasizes adherence to safety standards, accurate cargo documentation, and basic maintenance tasks as part of daily duties.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, GPS, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
• Drive lighter, special purpose trucks
• Load and unload goods
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
• Pay and receive payments for goods
• Perform brake adjustments
• Perform emergency roadside repairs
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
• Perform preventive maintenance
• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
