Job summary

Varsteel Ltd. in Alberta is seeking an experienced truck driver to load, transport, and unload goods using flatbed or tractor-trailer equipment.

You will perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain safe driving practices, and ensure accurate documentation such as driver logs and bills of lading. Ideal candidates have 2–3 years of driving experience, a Class 1 licence with air brakes endorsement, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years driving experience.
• Valid Class 1/1F/A licence and related permits.
• Air Brakes Endorsement.
• Clean driving record (abstract).

Responsibilities

• Load and unload goods.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.
• Oversee vehicle condition and perform safety checks (tires, lights, brakes).
• Pay and receive payments for goods.
• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections.
• Perform preventive maintenance.
• Maintain documentation: accident reports, bills of lading, driver logbook, trip reports.
