Job summary

SEKHON AGGREGATES LTD. in Abbotsford, BC is hiring a Truck Driver on a permanent, full-time basis. The position offers $34.00 per hour and a 35–40 hour workweek, with shifts to be determined.

The successful candidate will load and unload goods, operate and drive trucks (straight or articulated), inspect vehicle condition, perform pre-trip and post-trip checks, and relay information to central dispatch. A valid Class 1/A license and Air Brake Endorsement are required.

Qualifications

• Fluent in English.
• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Air Brake Endorsement and Class 1/A license required.
• Experience is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload goods.
• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks safely.
• Inspect brakes, tires, lights, cold storage and other equipment.
• Perform pre-trip, en-route and post-trip inspections.
• Relate information to central dispatch.

• The candidate must load and unload goods.
• The candidate must operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials safely and efficiently.
• The candidate must oversee the condition of the vehicle and inspect the brakes, tires, lights, cold storage, and other equipment.
• The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections, as well as overseeing all aspects of the vehicle.
• The candidate will be responsible for receiving and relaying information to central dispatch.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in the English language.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• A candidate with experience is an asset.
• The candidate must hold an Air Brake Endorsement Certification and a valid Driver’s license (Class 1 or A).

Work setting

• The candidate should be able to work in various locations when employees are scattered across different worksites.

Transportation/travel information

• The candidate must have a valid driver’s licence.
