Job summary

MissionESG, based in Saanichton, BC, is seeking applications for the Truck driver role. We are looking for a self-disciplined individual with outstanding interpersonal skills who can join promptly and take on responsibilities at the earliest opportunity.

The position is permanent and full-time, with shifts that may include Day, Weekend, Early Morning and Morning. Core duties include performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, maintaining vehicle readiness, and complying with safety

Qualifications

• The candidate must have English language fluency.
• High school graduation is required.
• Air Brakes Endorsement Certification and multiple vehicle licences are required.
• Ability to operate GPS and navigate local areas is expected.
• Valid drivers licences and driving records will be checked.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections and oversee vehicle aspects.
• Operate a roll-off truck and use navigational equipment as needed.
• Maintain safety and compliance with regulations.

• The candidate will be responsible for performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, as well as overseeing all vehicle aspects.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Candidate having experience is an asset.
• The candidate must have Air Brakes Endorsement Certification, Class 1/1F/A Licence (semi trailer trucks), Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer trucks, vehicles with more than 3 axles), Class 5/5F/G Licence (cars, small trucks, and other 2-axle vehicles), and a Driver’s License (Class 1 or A).
• The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).

Documentation knowledge

• The candidate must be knowledgeable about accident or incident reports, driver logbooks, inspection reports (pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip), maintenance and repair reports and trip reports.

Type of trucking and equipment

• The trucking and equipment type is roll-off truck.
• The candidate will be responsible for operating GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigational equipment.

Transportation/travel experience

• The candidate must have travel experience in the local area.

Security and safety

• The candidate should be subjected to a thorough driver’s licence validity check and driving record check (abstract).
