Job summary

White River Forest Products LP in Ontario is seeking a reliable lumber mill worker to contribute to efficient sawmilling operations.

You will examine logs and rough lumber to decide best lumber cuts, sawn and plane rough lumber into dressed sizes, and monitor logs and lumber movement to ensure accuracy of cuts. The role requires attention to detail and a collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Experience an asset.

Responsibilities

• Examine logs and rough lumber to decide best lumber cuts.
• Saw, trim and plane rough lumber into dressed lumber of various sizes.
• Monitor logs and lumber movement to ensure cuts are made according to specifications.
• Clean and lubricate sawmill equipment.
• Report delays, mechanical problems and accidents.
• Monitor machine during operation.
• Prepare reports.
