Job summary

McCain Foods in Coaldale, AB is seeking a Foreign Material Inspector to monitor the flow of raw potatoes and frozen French fries, identifying foreign material or defects.

You will notify supervision of any findings, enter data on QCDSME boards, assist with recasing, maintain documentation, and uphold 5S and sanitation. This regular full-time role offers a CAD 24.66 hourly wage with scheduled shifts, overtime allowances, and a comprehensive benefits package contingent on duration.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control software (InfinityQS) is an asset.
• Safety training and WHMIS handling knowledge is required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to follow detailed instructions.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Grade 12 education preferred.

About The Role

Responsible for monitoring the flow of raw potatoes and French fries and identifying foreign material or defective fries.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Monitors the flow of raw potatoes to after the Raytec sorters for foreign material or defective potatoes.
• Monitors the flow of frozen French fries before packaging for foreign material or defective fries.
• Notifies supervisor of any foreign material found in product flow.
• Completes all required QCDSME board data entry.
• Assists with recasing of product as required.
• Maintains all required documentation.
• Maintains good housekeeping, sanitation and 5S in the area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control software (InfinityQS) and general production requirements is an asset.
• Experienced with the safe handling of chemicals in accordance with WHMIS.
• Must have strong communication skills, ability to follow detailed instructions, and be able to maintain good working relationships with Supervision and coworkers as well as ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of Grade 12 education.
• Ability to work on a rotating shift basis.
• Successful completion of a 90-day familiarization period is required.
• Must have proven history of safe work habits.
• Physically capable of performing all required duties, including standing for up to 2 hours

Compensation Package

Compensation Package: - Starting at 24.66 CAD hourly + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
