Job summary

McCain Foods (Canada) is seeking General Labourers to join the Prepared Foods facility in Florenceville-Bristol, New Brunswick. This role supports production operations, food safety, quality, sanitation, and equipment performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Expect 8-hour rotating shifts, Monday through Friday, with 6:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m.–6:00 a.m. A 90-day training program is included.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 education or GED required.
• Ability to work rotating shifts including day and night schedules.
• Previous manufacturing or food production experience is an asset.
• Basic computer skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety requirements, JHAs, and safe work practices.
• Interpret formulas and weigh, mix, and blend ingredients per recipes.
• Perform cleaning and sanitation to maintain a clean workspace.
• Identify and report product quality concerns per food safety standards.
• Operate equipment in assigned production areas.
• Document ingredient codes, temperatures, and finished product info.
• Manage ingredient timing and production schedules for shifts.
• Follow production requirements and changeover procedures.
• Troubleshoot and support equipment performance as needed.
• Follow GMPs and CCP requirements.
• Support KPI goals through continuous improvement activities.
• Share information and provide support to teammates as needed.

About The Role.

McCain Foods (Canada) is seeking General Labourers to join our Prepared Foods facility in Florenceville-Bristol, New Brunswick. This role supports production operations, food safety, quality, sanitation, and equipment performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a physically demanding position requiring 8-hour rotating shifts, Monday through Friday, rotating through 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Successful candidates will participate in a 90-day training program.

What You’ll Be Doing.

• Follow all safety requirements, Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), safe work practices, and actively participate in the STEP behavioral safety program.
• Interpret mixing formulas and accurately weigh, mix, and blend ingredients according to established recipes.
• Complete cleaning and sanitation activities while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Identify and report product quality concerns while supporting food safety standards.
• Operate equipment associated with assigned production areas.
• Accurately document ingredient codes, temperatures, and finished product tracking information.
• Manage ingredient timing and production schedules to support efficient shift completion and changeovers.
• Follow all production requirements and changeover procedures.
• Troubleshoot, adjust, and support equipment performance as required.
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Critical Control Point (CCP) requirements.
• Support SQCDPE performance goals through KPI awareness and continuous improvement activities.
• Share information and provide support to team members while acting as a Key Area Resource when required.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful.

• Grade 12 education or GED required.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including day and night schedules.
• Previous manufacturing or food production experience is considered an asset.
• Basic computer skills and computer operation knowledge are an asset.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to regularly walk, stand, bend, and continuously lift approximately 35 to 40 pounds.
• Ability to learn and perform a variety of jobs throughout the plant.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond calmly to unexpected situations.
• Good mathematical aptitude and the ability to accurately complete production documentation.
• Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing operational requirements.

The General Labourer role is part of the Prepared Foods team in Florenceville-Bristol, New Brunswick. Team members work closely across production, quality, maintenance, and sanitation functions to safely produce high-quality food products while supporting operational performance, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.

Compensation Package: - Starting at 21.49 CAD hourly + Bonus eligibility + Hourly Pay Differential for applicable shifts
