Canadian Orthodontic Partners provides support services to docbraces Calgary and our national network of community-based clinics, delivering personalized orthodontic treatment. Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome new patients warmly and enthusiastically
- Take and facilitate necessary radiographs and photos for consultations and observation patients
- Review health history with patients and guardians
- Record trauma history, pre-medication needs, and relevant info; research medications and note any contraindications
- Identify patient and parent concerns and treatment goals
- Summarize patient info for the doctor, including age, reason for visit, health history, and chief complaints
- Introduce the orthodontist to the family
- Assist in examinations and data collection
- Record data accurately and efficiently
- Take notes on patient-doctor conversations
- Generate correspondence for initial and recall appointments
- Review treatment plans with patients in the absence of the orthodontist
- Show treatment appliances and explain upcoming appointments
- Use visual aids (videos, pictures) to illustrate treatment plans
- Review financial details and assist with payment options
- Complete contracts and informed consent forms
- Schedule records and start appointments
- Review insurance details and assist with forms
- Address final questions and escort patients out
- Encourage referrals and promote office marketing
- Complete pending and confirmation calls during downtime
- Monitor recall programs
- Act as a liaison between the doctor and patients or other dental professionals
- Complete monthly analytics
- Maintain a positive attitude and work cohesively with team members
- Perform additional tasks as delegated by the Orthodontist or leadership
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of front office dental experience (asset)
- Experience as a Treatment Coordinator (asset)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new programs
- Knowledge of dental treatment plans and insurance procedures (preferred)
- Certified Level 2 Dental Assistant (asset)
- Clinical background (asset)
- Understanding of oral treatment plans and patient education skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, to make patients comfortable
