Job summary

Inland Truck & Equipment in Vernon, BC is seeking a Heavy-Duty Equipment Field Technician to travel to customer locations and repair and maintain heavy-duty equipment, including construction and forestry equipment.

The role reports to service leadership and requires a licensed technician with at least five years of field experience, strong problem-solving ability, and solid communication skills. Overtime may be required; a valid driver’s license is essential.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician
  • Five years related field experience preferred
  • Basic computer skills to access required systems
  • Ability to solve problems and think logically
  • Ability to self-manage time and priorities
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to lift 25 kgs (50 lbs)
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to drive service truck
  • Mobility to access equipment
  • Willingness to work overtime when required

Responsibilities

  • Travels to customer locations to repair and maintain heavy duty equipment.
  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy per standards.
  • Analyzes equipment performance complaints, diagnoses issues, and performs repairs.
  • Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
  • Examines equipment to determine if further safety or service work is required.
  • Documents all work performed and recommendations on the repair order.
  • Tests equipment as required.
  • Maintains service truck and keeps it clean and in good repair.
  • Complies with Health & Safety Manual.
