Job summary

Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide primary care for trauma patients, including assessment, intervention, education and patient advocacy. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support the Philosophy of Person Centred Care and the Mission and Values of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.

Qualifications

Current Certificate of Competence [Ontario].
Current B.C.L.S.
B.Sc.N preferred
Post-Basic Neuro course strongly recommended
Current trauma experience required
Experience working in a fast-paced environment; able to manage multiple demands and changing priorities
Surgical experience with skills in pre-op and post-op care and patient/family teaching
Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families and co-workers
Excellent assessment skills
Ability to work effectively as a team member
Demonstrated commitment to Person-Centred Care approaches and principles

Responsibilities

Provide primary care of trauma patients, including assessment, intervention and education.
Support the Philosophy of Person Centred Care and Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre values.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
