Job summary

Recovery Alberta in the Foothills Professional Building region is seeking a Family Counsellor to assess, diagnose, treat and follow up with children and adolescents facing complex mental health challenges in a community-based program.

You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, provide clinical consultations, and help develop preventative health initiatives while participating in case conferences and program planning.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a health-related field and active or eligible registration.
• Minimum 5 years experience with children under 18 with complex needs.
• Experience with mental health assessment, case conceptualization, and collaboration in a multidisciplinary team.
• Training in developmental, attachment, and trauma therapy with ability to apply these in practice.
• Knowledge of DSM-5 and ability to document assessments and consultations in a timely manner.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up to clients and families.
• Provide clinical-focused consultation to other programs or community resources.
• Collaborate with health care and community service providers to ensure continuum of care in the community.
• Participate in case conferences, staff meetings and program planning.
• Engage in liaison activities to promote preventative health programs in the community.
