Job summary

McMan Calgary & Area invites applications for a Youth Development Coordinator at the Wellington group home. This permanent full-time role supports sibling groups in a safe, stable environment with around-the-clock care and a strong cultural component emphasizing Indigenous youth and family reunification.

The position involves rotating day/evening shifts, case management, and delivering trauma-informed supports to empower families to thrive independently.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Human Services.
• Experience in youth work, family roles, or related community roles.
• Ability to build strong relationships with youth, families and communities.
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practice frameworks.
• Understanding of Indigenous histories, cultures and knowledge systems.

Responsibilities

• Uphold duty of care prioritizing trauma-informed principles for youth with complex needs.
• Respond to trauma-related behaviours with sensitivity and safety.
• Help youth develop life and social skills and access community resources.
• Coordinate daily youth needs including school readiness, appointments and household duties.
• Facilitate activities—physical, recreational, educational, social, cultural and vocational.
• Transport youth to activities and appointments as required.
• Provide stabilization through predictable structures and positive behaviour support.
• Manage cases for assigned youth with assessments, planning and transitions.
