Job summary

Autism Services in Saskatoon is seeking a Support Worker for the Women’s Supported Living program. The role involves providing emotional support, conducting risk assessments, and developing safety plans for women and families.

A Technical/Applied Science Diploma and 1-2 years of experience are preferred, with trauma-informed care knowledge a strong asset. The position offers permanent, full- or part-time hours in a community-based setting.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Technical/Applied Science or related field is required.
• Experience with trauma-informed approaches is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide emotional support and guidance to clients with care, compassion and a non-judgemental manner.
• Conduct comprehensive risk and needs assessments to determine danger levels and develop safety plans.
• Develop and implement treatment plans including crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, and referrals.
• Demonstrate knowledge of trauma-informed care and therapeutic practices.
• Collaborate with social workers, law enforcement and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support.
• Show understanding of Metis and First Nation cultures and work respectfully within a diverse environment.
• Foster teamwork with staff and community agencies.
• Ability to communicate in Metis or a First Nations language is an asset.
