Job summary

GHD in Canada is seeking a Project Manager to support our Ontario Transportation Group, with offices in Waterloo, Markham, Mississauga, St. Catharines, or Toronto. You will lead highway design projects and collaborate with provincial agencies and clients to deliver safe, lasting infrastructure.

Ideal candidates have 5–10 years in transportation design and strong project leadership, with a Civil Engineering degree and Ontario P.Eng. designation.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree in Civil Engineering.
• Ontario P.Eng. designation is required.
• 5-10 years' experience in design and engineering of transportation infrastructure projects, including project management.
• Excellent written and oral communication, with strong organization and leadership.
• Experience with Ontario Ministry of Transportation.
• Experience with other highway agencies and municipal transportation clients is an asset.
• Proven ability to coordinate and motivate multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience with collaborative design models (e.g., Progressive Design-Build, Alliance, CMGC) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead highway design projects for MTO and similar clients as a Project Manager and/or Assistant Project Manager.
• Apply transportation solutions including design packages, green infrastructure, and ITS.
• Drive client satisfaction and financial performance to grow the transportation portfolio.
• Take ownership of project management from proposal to close-out, including teams, budgets, and schedules.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior staff.
• Coordinate with engineers and design staff across disciplines to deliver high-quality deliverables.
• Support business development including capture planning and leading proposals.
• Contribute to the development and execution of client strategies.
