Job summary

GHD, a global professional services leader, seeks a Senior Civil Designer / Senior Civil Technologist to join our Ontario team and work on municipal infrastructure, land development, and road projects from concept through construction.

Office-based in Markham, Mississauga, Whitby, Toronto or Ottawa, focusing on hands-on design with Civil 3D and AutoCAD while collaborating with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver technically sound designs.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• 10–12 years of relevant experience in civil engineering design, municipal infrastructure, land development, earthworks.
• Strong working knowledge of Civil 3D and AutoCAD; ability to prepare servicing plans, grading plans, earthworks models, and construction drawings.
• Experience reviewing survey information, existing-condition models, and coordinating design work with engineers and multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Civil design, modelling, and drafting for municipal infrastructure and land development projects.
• Prepare Civil 3D models and drawings; manage survey, LiDAR, GIS, and orthophoto data for design surfaces.
• Coordinate with engineers and project teams; develop designs from concept to construction under supervision.
• Assist with plan and profile drawings for roads, sewers, watermains, and other infrastructure, and support regulatory submissions.
