Job summary

Dillon Consulting Limited seeks a Transportation Designer to join the Transportation Infrastructure team in a full-time, hybrid role based out of any Ontario office. You will support preliminary and detailed transportation projects for the Ministry of Transportation and local municipalities, collaborating with engineers, planners, and environmental scientists.

Qualifications

• A degree in civil or transportation engineering or a diploma in civil engineering technology.
• Licensed to practice as an engineer-in-training in Ontario or eligible to be licensed within six months, or registered as a civil engineering technologist in Ontario or eligible to be registered within six months.
• One to two years’ work experience with exposure to consulting is considered an asset, however, new graduates will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Assist project managers with coordination of transportation projects.
• Assist in the design of transportation projects including transportation drafting using CADD software.
• Assist with site investigations and condition assessments.
• Complete review of safe work practices and perform risk assessments.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including engineers, planners, environmental scientists, engineering technologists and administrative support staff.
• Contribute to business development activities including client need research, preparation of project proposals and presentations.
• Participation in the Early Career Development program.
• Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development.
• Input to the career development of junior staff, including technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring.
• Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees.
