Job summary

P&H Milling is seeking a Transportation Administrator to join our Cambridge, ON team for the remote afternoon shift (4 pm–12 am). You will provide after-hours support across dispatch boards, assist drivers and 3PL carriers, monitor shipments, and manage handovers to the day team.

Ideal candidates have post-secondary education in supply chain or related field, strong MS Office skills, and knowledge of transportation regulations.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in supply chain management or related field.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; able to learn new software systems.
• Experience in transportation/logistics, dispatching preferred.
• Knowledge of transportation regulations and Hours of Service (HOS) a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Experience with Descartes OnDemand or Samsara is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide after-hours transportation support across all dispatch boards.
• Track and trace loads to monitor on-time performance.
• Assist drivers and 3PL carriers with after-hours issues and changes.
• Communicate updated dispatch instructions to drivers and teams.
• Maintain shipment details and status in Descartes and Samsara.
• Ensure clear handover to the day team with outstanding issues.
• Review proformas, settle invoices, and follow up on discrepancies.
• Handle other duties to support Transportation Department.

Your Team

P&H Milling: P&H Milling is Canada’s largest Canadian-owned milling company, producing high-quality flour and cereal products for bakeries, food manufacturers, and consumers. From coast to coast, we transform Canadian wheat into trusted products that feed families at home and abroad.

We are seeking an organized, detail-oriented Transportation Administrator for our P&H Milling team’s remote afternoon shift (4 p.m. – midnight). This role provides after-hours support across all dispatch boards, assists drivers and third-party logistics (3PL) carriers, monitors shipments, and addresses changes and disruptions. Responsibilities include accurate recordkeeping, clear handovers to the day team, proforma processing, and invoice settlement. The ideal candidate works independently, communicates clearly, and responds effectively to changing priorities.

Day to Day

• Provide after-hours transportation support across all dispatch boards.
• Track and trace all loads to monitor on-time performance and identify potential delays.
• Support drivers and third-party logistics (3PL) carriers with after-hours issues, respond promptly to schedule changes and service disruptions, and elevate matters as needed.
• Communicate updated dispatch instructions and pickup or delivery arrangements to drivers, carriers, and internal teams in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate shipment details, schedules, and status updates in Descartes, Samsara, and other relevant systems.
• Ensure a clear handover to the day team, documenting outstanding issues, schedule changes, and any actions requiring follow-up.
• Review and process transportation proformas, settle transportation invoices, and follow up on discrepancies.
• Other duties as assigned to support the Transportation Department.

What You’ll Bring

• Post-secondary education in supply chain management, logistics, or a related
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office with the ability to adapt and learn various software systems.
• Experience in the transportation/logistics industry, particularly in dispatching, is preferred.
• Knowledge of commercial transportation regulations, the Ontario Highway Traffic Act, and Hours of Service (HOS) requirements are considered an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Ability to manage after-hours priorities across multiple dispatch boards and respond effectively to changing schedules.
• Experience with Descartes OnDemand and Samsara is considered an asset.
