Element Technical Services in Red Deer, AB is seeking an Air Can Operator / Transport Driver to join our logistics team. You will drive and operate the tractor and pneumatic trailer to load, unload, or disperse materials according to dispatch instructions, while adhering to DOT hours of service.

The role requires a valid Class 1 license, H2S and First Aid certs, and the ability to work 14 days on and 7 days off.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and disperse materials with tractor and pneumatic trailer per dispatch.
• Follow DOT rules and hours of service.

• Complete understanding of Air Can procedures.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections for safety and roadworthiness.
• Train and mentor less experienced coworkers.
• Maintain driver logs of working hours and vehicle service.
• Maneuver equipment using appropriate hand signals.
• Attend pre-job safety meetings.
• Ensure compliance with transportation safety and fatigue management laws.

Job Description

Drive and operate the tractor and pneumatic trailer to load, unload, or disperse materials as required by the Element logistics dispatch team. Follow all applicable DOT rules and regulations and hours of service. Ability to haul over-dimensional heavy loads would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of tools and parts required on the unit for inventory and
• maintenance purposes
• Know where the sight glasses, check points and fill points are
• including grease points
• Complete understanding of Air Can procedures
• Fall protection requirement including pre-use inspection, proper fit
• and use the fall arrest harness and equipment
• Completion of loading tickets
• Loading the unit adhering to allowable weights per axle
• Train and mentor less experienced co-workers as required
• Perform pre and post trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring
• safety and roadworthiness
• Attend pre-job safety meetings
• Comply with applicable legislation including safe operation, driver’s
• hours of service, occupational health and safety, transportation of dangerous
• goods, fatigue management
• Maneuver equipment following appropriate hand signals.
• Maintain driver logs of working hours and of vehicle service and repair
• status.
• Maintains effective communication with co-workers
