Job description

Overview

Panasonic Canada Inc. is currently looking to hire for the position of Translator 12-month contract.

Supports on translation tasks including the review, editing and translation of business required content. Collaborates with 3rd party French translation vendor to coordinate projects and meet deadlines. Ensures high-quality, compliant content for French-speaking audiences that aligns with Panasonic Canada’s tone and brand voice. Maintains familiarity with the Quebec Office of the French Language legislative. Participates in and assists with special projects as required.

This is a 12-month contract.

This position is hybrid. Any office-based work will be performed from our Mississauga office at Ambler Drive.


Responsibilities

  • Supports in providing quality translation of various English documents, multimedia and marketing materials, and web pages into French while ensuring the proper use of the organization’s specific lexicon of terms and branding phrases while respecting all original meanings, formats, and tones.
  • Collaborates and engages with various levels of the organization to ensure accuracy of information and the ‘voice’ of the brand.
  • Proofreads and edits translated materials to ensure quality, accuracy of information and language. Ensures completeness, complexity and literacy level of the messaging and information are appropriate to the targeted audience(s).
  • Works with external translation vendor to ensure projects are reviewed, prioritized, and deadlines are managed. Ensures internal stakeholder’s expectations are met and projects are delivered on time with high quality translations.
  • Maintains familiarity with the Quebec Office of the French Language legislative.

Qualifications

  • College or University Degree – 3- or 4-Year Bachelor Level. Two (2) to three (3) years related work experience.
  • Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, Teams. Experience with Adobe Acrobat
  • Ability to multi-task and handle tasks and assignments from multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management skills to set priorities and meet goals.
  • Strong attention to detail, proactive and highly organized, able to handle work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Ability to build relationships and establish rapport with stakeholders.
