Job summary

YW Calgary seeks a dedicated Recovery Support Worker to provide recovery-focused services to women in Transitional Housing. You will develop recovery service plans, deliver individual and group support, and connect clients to community services. This on-site role runs Monday–Friday, 10:00 a.m.

to 6:00 p.m., with a strong emphasis on safety, advocacy, and collaboration. Ideal candidates hold a degree or diploma in Social Work or Addiction Services, with 3+ years’ experience addressing

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Social Work or Addiction Services, or a directly related degree in human services.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience working with individuals affected by gender-based violence, mental health, addictions, homelessness or housing instability and poverty.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with clients to set goals for wellness and housing stability.
• Co-create individualized recovery plans focused on safety and achievable steps.
• Deliver 1:1 psychosocial intervention using evidence-informed approaches.
• Build clients’ life skills, confidence, self-efficacy, and social connections.
• Respond to crises and work with internal teams to maintain safety.
• Support discharge and aftercare planning for successful transitions.
• Assist with day-to-day program operations (front desk, breaks, housekeeping, inventory).
• Help clients navigate health, housing, income, and social service systems.
• Maintain strong relationships with external service providers.
• Advocate for equitable access and inclusion for all clients.
