Job summary

County of Simcoe in Midhurst, Ontario is offering a temporary full-time student position in IT development and support. You will assist with systems analysis, develop components in a Microsoft .NET environment, and support website development using a CMS and scripting languages.

The role requires co-op eligibility, strong communication and organizational skills, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work some weekends.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered full-time post-secondary student in a formal co-op program.
• Enrolled in a technical school program, programmer/analyst focus.
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Driver’s License with access to a vehicle.
• Familiarity with computer hardware configuration, printers, and network concepts.
• Software experience with Windows XP, MS Office and Internet applications.
• Ability to work some weekends, if necessary.
• Must provide a clear criminal reference check from within the last 6 months

Responsibilities

• Assist with the systems analysis process to determine applications requirements.
• Develop program components within a Microsoft .Net environment.
• Support web site development using content management system and scripting languages.
• Troubleshoot program operation to determine that functional requirements are met.
• Document program code to support future maintenance of developed applications.
