Job summary

Ledcor is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join a major transit project in Markham, Ontario. The role supports the Superintendent across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical scopes, coordinating subcontractors and maintaining schedule and safety standards.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of construction experience, a strong track record in transit/rail projects, and a proactive approach to safety, quality and productivity on site.

Qualifications

• 5–10+ years of construction experience in civil infrastructure and building projects.
• Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors and fast-paced site activities.
• Direct transit station or major infrastructure project experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day site construction management for a transit station project.
• Coordinate civil construction activities including earthworks, drainage and utilities.
• Support the execution of structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical scopes.
• Lead daily foreman coordination meetings to align crews and logistics.
• Monitor productivity, labor, equipment, and progress against schedule.
• Develop three-week look-ahead schedules and resolve workflow constraints.
• Coordinate site logistics, deliveries, and staging to minimize disruptions.
• Ensure activities meet drawings, specifications, schedules, and safety requirements.
• Promote Ledcor safety culture and lead safety meetings (FLHAs/JHAs).
• Monitor subcontractor performance against quality, safety, and schedule.
• Support Quality Programs, ITPs, and project documentation requirements.
• Maintain records (daily reports, photos, changes) for forecasting and cost control.
• Build strong relationships with project teams, clients, consultants, suppliers.
