Responsibilities

• Building positive, trusting relationships with children and young people
• Supporting emotional wellbeing and positive development
• Creating a safe, stable and nurturing home environment
• Helping young people develop confidence, independence and life skills
• Supporting daily routines, meals, activities and appointments
• Encouraging education, hobbies and community involvement
• Responding calmly and appropriately to challenging or distressed behaviour
• Following care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures
• Acting as a positive role model and maintaining appropriate boundaries
• Working closely with colleagues, families and other professionals
• Maintaining accurate records and providing clear handovers
