Job summary

Headway Adolescent Resources is recruiting a Residential Childcare Worker to support young people in a residential setting in Langford, Bristol. The role is full-time, permanent, with a 38-hour week in a two days on / four days off pattern and includes two sleep-ins.

A salary is offered with progression and training provided. You will work to deliver high-quality care, support positive outcomes, and keep accurate daily records while maintaining a compassionate, patient, and proactive approach

Qualifications

• Must have a full UK manual driving licence.
• Ability to work independently with accuracy and maintain clear, organised records.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive team-player approach.
• Ability to complete daily records to statutory and policy standards.
• Empathetic, patient and supportive approach.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to engage, motivate and encourage young people.
• Experience working with young people.
• Willingness to work towards a Level 3 CY&P qualification; employer funded.

• Unqualified: Base salary of £27,866.34, earning up to £33,447.67 with sleep-in shifts


• Qualified: Base salary of £29,181.57, earning up to £34,762.90 with sleep-in shifts

• A sleep-in allowance of £46 per night, as and when required by the needs of the business

About the Role

Based in one of our children’s residential homes, you’ll support young people with challenging behaviour, requiring flexibility, resilience, honesty and strong organisational skills. You’ll be committed to delivering high‑quality care that helps each young person achieve positive outcomes.

This is a permanent role with great career prospects and full training within a growing organisation. You’ll work an average of 38 hours per week on a two days on / four days off shift pattern, including two sleep‑ins. You’ll also receive generous allowances for bank holidays, overtime and a performance‑related bonus.
