Job summary

A leading training solutions provider in Ontario seeks a Senior Training Specialist to support the rollout of the Public Safety Radio Network for ambulance services. Ideal candidates will have over 5 years of experience in operational training and managing complex schedules. Key responsibilities include delivering training to 9,000+ Paramedics, developing training strategies, and ensuring high-quality training materials. Extensive travel within Ontario is required. This is a 12+ month contract with a possibility of extension.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in delivering training programs in operational environments.
  • Valid Ontario G-class driver’s license with extensive travel capability.
  • Experience creating training material in the Public Safety or Healthcare sectors.
  • Experience supporting training in 24x7 critical operational environments.
  • Public Safety Radio Network (PSRN) or similar public safety systems experience.
  • Telecom, dispatch, radio, and emergency communication systems exposure.
  • Strong documentation: training plans, user guides, and certifications.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage and report against complex training project plans and schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver training to over 9,000 Paramedics and Ministry stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain PSRN Training Strategies and Plans.
  • Evaluate participant performance and recommend remedial training.
  • Collaborate with Ministry of Health representatives on training materials.
  • Design, review, and ensure quality of all training and communication materials.
  • Evaluate participant performance, administer exams/certifications, and recommend remedial training.
  • Collaborate with Health Ministry representatives to incorporate EHPMDB processes into training materials.
  • Coordinate with Training Lead to meet project milestones and communications.
  • Serve as province‑wide subject matter resource for PSRN training and testing initiatives.
  • Participate in committees and task groups related to PSRN technology training and testing.

Job description

Duration: 12+ Months Contract (Possibility for Extension)

Note:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Training Specialist to support the province-wide rollout of the Public Safety Radio Network (PSRN) for land and air ambulance services across Ontario. The ideal candidate will have strong experience delivering large-scale, operational training programs in First Responder or Public Safety environments, working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and managing complex province-wide training schedules.

Key Skills & Expertise:

  • 5+ years of experience delivering instructor‑led, hands‑on, and e‑learning training programs
  • Proven experience developing and executing province-wide or nation-wide training strategies
  • Strong experience delivering training to both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Experience supporting training in 24x7 critical operational environments
  • Demonstrated experience with Public Safety Radio Network (PSRN) or similar public safety systems
  • Experience with telecom, dispatch, radio, and emergency communication systems
  • Strong documentation skills, including training plans, user guides, and certification materials
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to manage and report against complex training project plans and schedules

Experience & Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Trainer, preferably within:
  • Land Ambulance Dispatch Centers
  • Paramedic or Emergency Health Services
  • Experience creating training material or user documentation, preferably in Public Safety or Healthcare sectors
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage large‑scale, province‑wide training schedules
  • Experience working with large, multi‑disciplinary project teams
  • Valid Ontario G‑class driver’s license (or equivalent) and ability to travel extensively within Ontario

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instructor‑led training, interactive demonstrations, and e‑learning to:
  • 9,000+ Paramedics
  • Ministry stakeholders, including ORNGE
  • Provide application and product training to both technical and non‑technical users
  • Support provincial project testing activities (e.g., network coverage testing, console‑to‑site testing)
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive PSRN Training Strategies and Plans tailored to each CACC
  • Design, review, and ensure quality of all training and communication materials
  • Evaluate participant performance, administer exams/certifications, and recommend remedial training
  • Work closely with Ministry of Health representatives to incorporate EHPMDB processes into training materials
  • Collaborate with the Training Lead to ensure project milestones, timelines, and communications are met
  • Create final training deliverables by integrating vendor materials with future‑state EHPMDB processes
  • Act as a province‑wide subject matter resource for PSRN training and testing initiatives
  • Participate in committees and task groups related to PSRN technology training and testing
