Overview

The Training/Safety Coordinator supports and implements safety and training programs to ensure employees are well-prepared and compliant with safety standards. This role helps maintain a safe work environment, driving engagement, with teams equipped with skills and knowledge to provide G.R.E.A.T customer service and adherence to Kent's Safety Management System.


Responsibilities


  • Safety Training: Develop and implement safety training programs for employees.

  • Compliance: Ensure all staff adhere to safety protocols, company policies and regulatory standards.

  • Record-Keeping: Maintain training and safety documentation, and compliance audits including responsibility for minutes of JHSC meetings.

  • Risk Assessment: Conduct audits, assess hazards, and implement corrective actions.

  • Training Facilitation: Deliver training sessions using various methods (in-person, e-learning, hands-on etc.).

  • Collaboration: Work with managers to identify training needs, gaps and communicate opportunities.

  • Monitoring & Evaluation: Assess training effectiveness and track employee progress.

  • Expand Knowledge: Continuously expand knowledge of HR and safety to provide store support.

  • Reinforce Safety Culture: Promote a strong safety culture within the workplace. Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazards to determine root causes and determine corrective action.

  • Training Completion: Strive for 100% completion of safety and training programs to ensure the store is prepared to deliver G.R.E.A.T customer service and maintain high employee engagement.
