Job summary

Modern Truck and Trailer Repair Ltd is seeking a trailer mechanic to join our Calgary shop. You will diagnose, repair and test truck-trailer systems, perform scheduled maintenance and advise customers on repair needs.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience, a secondary school diploma, and a reliable, team-oriented approach. On-site work with varied shifts, Monday through weekend, with compensation around CAD 36 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Confirm findings with supervisor to determine whether to repair or replace unit
• Discuss work with supervisor
• Inspect mechanical units to locate faults and malfunctions
• Review work orders
• Adjust, repair or replace parts and components of truck-trailer systems
• Test and adjust repaired systems to manufacturer's specifications
• Estimate parts and labour cost to perform vehicle maintenance and repairs
• Perform scheduled maintenance service
• Test and adjust units to specifications
• Advise customers on work performed and future repair requirements
• Complete reports to record problems and work performed
