Job summary

The Universal Group in Canada is seeking a Traffic Control Person (TCP) to set up traffic control zones, adjust work zone equipment and respond to hazards.

The role requires a valid BC TCP certificate, strong communication and de-escalation skills, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather. You will be dispatched across Vancouver Island with opportunities for advancement and a comprehensive benefits package. Signing bonus is available for experienced TCPs.

Responsibilities

• Traffic Control Setup: Set up traffic control zones and adjust work zone equipment.
• Safety and Compliance: Conduct traffic control to protect workers and the public; attend safety meetings; participate in investigations.
• Reporting and Communication: Communicate effectively and report health/safety matters or noncompliance to dispatch or supervisor.
• Safety Gear and Equipment: Wear required PPE per WorkSafeBC and site requirements.
• Certification and Training: Maintain BC TCP certificate current and valid.
