Job summary

The Universal Group is seeking a dedicated Traffic Control Person (TCP) to oversee traffic flow and safety in work zones across Vancouver Island. You will set up zones, adjust equipment, and respond to emergencies, ensuring operations run smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities include strict adherence to WorkSafeBC PPE and safety guidelines, maintaining BC TCP certification, and communicating effectively to de-escalate public frustrations.

Qualifications

• Valid BC TCP Certification.
• Effective communication and de-escalation skills.
• Ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and responsiveness standards.
• Accountability - holding self and others to meet commitments.

Responsibilities

• Set up traffic control zones and adjust work zone equipment.
• Gives traffic control directions and signals clearly for motorists.
• Attend health and safety toolbox/tailgate meetings as required.
• Participate in incident investigations to uphold policies and procedures.
