Position Overview
Are you looking for an opportunity to be a part of a new, emerging nuclear market? Our nuclear safety culture is strong at Kiewit Nuclear Canada. Reporting to the Superintendent, the Traffic Control Supervisor plays an essential role in project execution by leading the planning and implementation of traffic setups on the construction sites. The Traffic Control Supervisor shall be responsible for ensuring traffic control on site is implemented as per the plans. This dynamic role involves developing and maintaining traffic control plans, monitoring traffic operations in construction zones, measuring lane closures, and supervising site activities.

Location: The position will be based on our project in Darlington, ON. The successful candidate will be local to Darlington, Oshawa, or surrounding areas, or willing to relocate. We offer opportunities for relocation and travel for future projects.

Responsibilities

  1. Supervise equipment and traffic on site, ensuring operations are conducted with high safety standards.
  2. Coordinate all traffic control operations with stakeholders and contractors.
  3. Supervise traffic setups to ensure compliance with plans.
  4. Liaise with city and transit authorities as required.
  5. Respond to traffic-related incidents from construction activities.
  6. Work with the Site Manager and other leaders to plan equipment movement and traffic management.
  7. Document traffic control measures and activities.
  8. Ensure safety and orderly movement of vehicular, cycling, and pedestrian traffic.
  9. Attend traffic management meetings regularly.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years minimum experience in traffic supervision, management, or site management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, BlueBeam, and logistics plan preparation preferred.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Book 7 Manual for work zones setup.
  • Experience in a construction environment is required.
  • Post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word and Excel.
  • Understanding of traffic regulations and best practices.
  • Results-oriented with good multitasking and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
