Position Overview
Are you looking for an opportunity to be a part of a new, emerging nuclear market? Our nuclear safety culture is strong at Kiewit Nuclear Canada. Reporting to the Superintendent, the Traffic Control Supervisor plays an essential role in project execution by leading the planning and implementation of traffic setups on the construction sites. The Traffic Control Supervisor shall be responsible for ensuring traffic control on site is implemented as per agreed plans. This dynamic role focuses on developing and maintaining traffic control plans, monitoring traffic operations in construction zones, lane closure measurement, and site supervision.

Location: The position will be based on our project in Darlington, ON. The successful candidate will be local to Darlington, Oshawa or surrounding areas, or willing to relocate. We also value candidates open to traveling and relocating for future projects.

Responsibilities

  1. Supervise equipment and traffic on site, ensuring operations are conducted with the highest safety standards.
  2. Coordinate all traffic control operations with stakeholders and contractors.
  3. Supervise traffic setups on site to ensure compliance with plans.
  4. Liaise with city and transit authorities as required.
  5. Respond to traffic-related incidents during construction activities.
  6. Collaborate with the Site Manager, Superintendents, and Logistics Lead on equipment movement and traffic management.
  7. Document traffic control measures and activities.
  8. Ensure all requirements contribute to the safety and orderly movement of vehicular, cycling, and pedestrian traffic.
  9. Attend regular traffic management meetings.

Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience in traffic supervision, management, or site management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, BlueBeam, and logistics plan preparation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Ontario Book 7 Manual for work zones setup.
  • Experience in a construction environment is required.
  • Post-secondary education or relevant work experience.
  • Strong MS Office skills, especially Word and Excel.
  • Understanding of traffic regulations and best practices.
  • Results-oriented with excellent multitasking, time management, and teamwork skills.
