The Opportunity

The Traffic Control & Street Lighting Technician I (TCSL) assist in repairing, installing and maintaining all equipment necessary for the effective and efficient Traffic Control and Street Lighting system for the Corporation.

This is role reports the Supervisor Traffic Control and Street Lighting and under the technical direction of the Crew Leader. Some of the accountabilities include:

· Responsible for installing all new Traffic Control & Street Lighting.

· Responsible for maintaining and repairing Traffic Control & Street Lighting equipment.

· Assumes the duties of the Crew Leader when assigned.

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will have:

· Secondary School Graduation Diploma (SSGD) or Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with an emphasis on Electrical or Electronic subjects at the general level; and

· Minimum one year experience in installation, maintenance and repair of both Traffic Control & Street Lighting systems; or

· Equivalent combination of education, training and experience in the maintenance & installation of fixed time and solid-state traffic controllers and street lighting responsibilities.

· A certified journeyman, Power Lineman or Electrician Licence is required.
