Job summary

Purolator is seeking a Licensed Tradesperson to maintain, diagnose, test and repair material handling equipment at our Richmond BC facility. The role operates Tuesday to Saturday, 7:30am–4:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid break.

Location is 3700 Jericho Road, Richmond BC. The candidate must hold a 442A or 433A license as applicable and have 5+ years of related experience, plus a clean driving record and English proficiency for stakeholder communication.

Qualifications

• Completion of specialized courses normally taught in community or recognized colleges.
• For electrician roles, a Licensed Industrial Electrician Certificate (442A) is required.
• For millwright roles, a Licensed Industrial Millwright Certificate (433A) is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience installing, maintaining, diagnosing, or repairing MHE.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular preventative / predictive maintenance on material handling equipment (MHE) to maintain equipment in a good state of repair and in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical or electrical failures to ensure equipment operates with minimal downtime.
• Inspect and monitor Material Handling Equipment and related facilities; prepare and maintain reports.
• Coordinate and document work orders in the CMMS system.

The Licensed Tradesperson maintains, diagnoses, tests, and repairs the material handling equipment (MHE) (e.g., conveyors, gear boxes rollers, drive unit, hydraulic and pneumatics systems, etc.) to ensure equipment is operating with minimal downtime in compliance with health and safety standards.

Shift: Tuesday to Saturday: 7:30am - 4:00pm, 30 mins unpaid break

Location: 3700 Jericho Road, Richmond BC.

Responsibilities

Conduct regular preventative / predictive maintenance on material handling equipment (MHE) (e.g., conveyors, gear boxes rollers, drive unit, hydraulic and pneumatics systems, etc.) to maintain equipment in a good state of repair in compliance with health and safety standards
Diagnose and repair Material Handling Equipment mechanical or electrical failures to ensure equipment is operating with minimal downtime to reduce downstream impact to service delivery
Inspect and monitor Material Handling Equipment and related facilities
Prepare and maintain reports (e.g., safety, operational)
Coordinate and document work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)

Education

Completion of Specialized Courses Normally Taught in Community or Recognized Specialty Colleges Consisting of About Three Academic Years
For electrician roles, a Licensed Industrial Electrician Certificate (442A) is required
For millwright roles, a Licensed Industrial Millwright Certificate (433A) is required

Experience

5 years of experience either as an electrician or millwright that installs, maintains, diagnoses, or repairs Material Handling Equipment.

Must have a valid Class 5 B.C. license

Must have no more than four (4) points on a valid Class 5 B.C. drivers license (abstract required)

Must successfully pass the Defensive Driving course
